In cooperation with the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the company has developed a "clean production new process for the production of methacrolein, methyl methacrylate and methyl allyl alcohol series products using tert-butyl alcohol/isobutylene as raw materials". With this clean process, 20,000 tons/year of methyl methacrylate and 10,000 tons of methyl allyl alcohol have been completed and put into operation. Planning and construction of an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons/year of methyl methacrylate project, including a set of 100,000 tons/year installation completed and put into operation by the end of August 2017.
The development of this technology was included in the national 863 plan twice. In 2004, it was listed as a key project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. It obtained one international invention patent and 14 Chinese invention patents. In 2008, it was awarded the Technical Invention Award issued by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association. In August 2014, it passed the technical appraisal of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
